Hydra is affilliated with the following programs and organisations:

The Hydra coordinater FhG FIT is a member of ARTEMISIA, the association for R&D actors in the field of ARTEMIS: Advanced Research & Technology for EMbedded Intelligence and Systems.

The Hydra middleware allows developers to create inclusive applications with a high degree of accessibility for all. The Hydra project supports the Commissions campaign: eInclusion - be part of it!

The Hydra project is part of the Cluster of European projects on the Internet of Things. The Cluster aims to promote a common vision of the Internet of Things.

The Hydra project is co-funded by the European Commission within the Sixth Framework Programme in the area of Networked Embedded Systems under contract IST-2005-034891

Hydra project releases the second newsletter
NewsThe Hydra project pursues the vision to create a middleware for networked mobile and embedded systems that will allow producers to develop easily cost-effective and innovative applications for new and existing devices.

Thus, the middleware will become an enabling tool to integrate all kinds of mobile and stationary embedded devices into an intelligent ambient network. Besides the middleware, developer kits will be introduced that will enable hardware and software developers to easily create innovative, cost-efficient and outstanding applications based on the capabilities of the middleware. The middleware will feature users to optimize their processes by gaining higher efficiency and flexibility. To reach these goals a team of 13 research oriented partners is cooperating, universities as well as industry partners.

The newsletter informs about the current status and further new achievements of the project. The following abstracts provide an overview of the topics covered within:

Hydra – economic impulse for embedded systems
The importance of Security
Healthcare Scenario using Hydra Technology
Description of the 2nd Demonstrator
Hydra Middleware Runner-Up at Best Demonstrator Award
