Hydra web site re-activated
On 24 April the Hydra website were hit by a massive hacker attack, which succeeded to get access to our database and destroy most of its content. In addition, the hacker stole our administrator password and changed it so that we could not access the site ourselves. The only solution was to delete the entire site and start from scratch.
We were one of several dozens of site using the PHP-Fusion CMS that were hit that day. The security vulnerability was in the calendar system used for our dissemination coordination. This was an open source module, which had not been properly security checked.
