This paper describes semantic-based device description which will be designed and implemented in the EU project HYDRA (“Networked Embedded System Middleware for Heterogeneous Physical Devices in a Distributed Architecture”). The paper focuses on semantic description of devices and their capabilities using device ontology.

The paper was presented at the 2nd Workshop on Intelligent and Knowledge oriented Technologies held in Košice, Slovakia, 15-16 November 2007.
