Hydra is affilliated with the following programs and organisations:

The Hydra coordinater FhG FIT is a member of ARTEMISIA, the association for R&D actors in the field of ARTEMIS: Advanced Research & Technology for EMbedded Intelligence and Systems.

The Hydra middleware allows developers to create inclusive applications with a high degree of accessibility for all. The Hydra project supports the Commissions campaign: eInclusion - be part of it!

The Hydra project is part of the Cluster of European projects on the Internet of Things. The Cluster aims to promote a common vision of the Internet of Things.

The Hydra project is co-funded by the European Commission within the Sixth Framework Programme in the area of Networked Embedded Systems under contract IST-2005-034891

Towards Self-managed Pervasive Middleware using OWL/SWRL ontologies Final

Weishan Zhang and Klaus Marius Hansen, Department of Computer Science, University of Aarhus, Denmark:

Self-management for pervasive middleware is important to realize the Ambient Intelligence vision. In this paper, we present an OWL/SWRL context ontologies based self-management approach for pervasive middleware where OWL ontology is used as means for context modeling. The context ontologies are incorporating the dynamic context information, including device and service run time information, which can then be used for running status checking and diagnosis, QoS monitoring, and further to achieve other self-management features, such as the self-configuration and self-adaptation.

The paper was presented at the Fifth International Workshop on Modeling and Reasoning in Context (MRC2008) 9-12 June 2008 in Delft, The Netherlands.
